I love my job at the birthing centre as I am able to work and set priorities independently here. Working in this great team is so enjoyable for me!

After many years of overseeing home births, I now work at Geburtshaus Zürcher Oberland out of a strong sense of conviction. It is crucial to me that I can already support the couple during the pregnancy, make contact with their child and strengthen their abilities and their confidence that they are ready for the task of parenthood.

I find my work at the birthing centre very exciting because I learn so much from all the different situations I encounter here. The team is very friendly and efficient, which is just great! It is a magical experience to work at a place where new lives begin. I am very glad to have completed my apprenticeship in the administration here.

The birth of my child in 2002 brought me in to contact with the Geburtshaus and it was obvious to me then just how much love and care had gone into the cooking, I went home ready for daily life as a new mum. Now I incorporate joy into every meal at the birthing centre.

It is important to me to work at the birthing centre because women and their families are cared for here in an atmosphere of peace and trust during the unique time of pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period.

At the birthing centre, I can help the parents achieve their goal of a natural childbirth.
In the days after birth, as a qualified breastfeeding advisor, I can provide additional support where needed to establish breastfeeding,

I encounter the families at the reception, from the first antenatal check-up right through to the point at which they leave the birthing centre as a family. It is so rewarding to see their overjoyed, proud faces when they go home with their baby. I am happy to be part of this team and play my part with my office work.

I got to know and value the exquisite cuisine in the Geburtshaus during my own two stays there. I cook with passion, using high-quality spices and wonderful organic, seasonal, locally sourced products. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the team supporting families at this unique time in their lives.

I had the privilege of giving birth to three of my four children here. It is a very special place for me, and I am very passionate about my work here, providing families with a clean, cosy and comfortable environment. I have been able to enjoy the loving, happy atmosphere for many years now.

Being a midwife is about offering women and their families holistic care throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, supporting them in their wishes and helping them build confidence. At Geburtshaus Zürcher Oberland, I have the time  to provide care and  to experience  all the wonderful things that nature can do if left to its own devices.

It is so important to me in my role as amidwife to be able to support mothers and babies during childbirth, observing, waiting and reacting where needed. The birthing centre offers me the calm atmosphere and the time I need to give the family-to-be my full attention and support.

I love my profession and am amazed by the unique nature and the power that is inherent in every birth, every woman, every couple and every family.

I really enjoy cooking at the birthing centre. Here, I am able to create great  meals with seasonal products so that the families in our care go home well nourished.  I love the contact with the families. They are so grateful and really value the food here.

Through the births of my three girls I came to know the birthing centre

I look forward to meeting everyone who I get to cook my creative meals for. The great atmosphere and the opportunity to meet people from many walks of life is something I really enjoy.

 

I began working as a freelance midwife 11 years ago and have given postnatal courses at Geburtshaus Zürcher Oberland for some time. I am now very happy to work here as a midwife. The individual, holistic care we offer our families and the peaceful atmosphere during the postnatal period are exactly what our families need. I very much like working together with a great team.

The birthing centre is a great place to work. It is a place that radiates warmth, comfort and security – an ideal setting for new life to begin. The atmosphere is cordial, heartfelt and friendly and the working environment is very pleasant. The whole team works hand in hand to ensure that we can make the parents’ and the baby’s time here as pleasant as possible.

I love working in a birthing centre, which creates a protective space of comfort and safety for the family-to-be. My strengths are my patience and my presence of mind in difficult situations and my ability to take responsibility.

I love my job here as I like working as part of a team and really appreciate the positive, open atmosphere at the birthing centre.

Childbirth is a miracle, every single time it happens. I am so glad to be able to assist parents and their baby on this journey. Natural processes and individuality are supported as much as possible at the birthing centre. The midwives incorporate the newest evidence with a wealth of experience. I love being able to provide family with holistic care at the birthing centre. 

Supporting families during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal care is so important to me. It is great that families are also welcome to come to Geburtshaus Zürcher Oberland after a home or hospital birth. I love helping women and their families find confidence in their own strength and abilities. Being present during such unforgettable moments at the birthing centre is a great honour for me and something I am very thankful for.

It was already clear to me early on during my midwife training that I wanted to work. in the field of natural childbirth. When I got to know the birthing centre, its philosophy and the team during a work placement, I knew straight away that I wanted to work here. It is hugely fulfilling for me that I am able to support our families throughout the pregnancy, birth, postnatal and nursing periods. Here I can promote and reinforce the natural processes with proven midwifery expertise.

I love the highly varied, multi-faceted work at Geburtshaus Zürcher Oberland. At the birthing centre, I can make a difference while simultaneously utilising my flair for numbers. Working together with so many dedicated colleagues from the different areas is fulfilling and fun.

Since my childhood I have been fascinated by birth. I support a childbirth culture in which women and their families are encouraged and empowered. It is a privilege for me to accompany women and their families during the unique time of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum in the birth center.

After a number of years working in hospital, I decided to move to the birthing centre. It’s such a great privilege to support couples on their journey to parenthood. I particularly like working at the birthing centre where I have the time and the calm atmosphere needed to support couples in their unique experience from the start of the pregnancy right through to the postnatal period.

I mainly support the birthing center in marketing tasks and projects. Having got to know the birthing centre and the great work the midwives do when my son was born here in 2009, my wish is that many other women will be able to experience a natural, individual birth too.

From 1999 to 2014, I supported many pregnant women during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period in my home country, the Netherlands. I’m really happy to bring my experience into the birthing centre and offer care and support throughout this exciting and challenging phase.

I had three of my four children at Geburtshaus Zürcher Oberland and was able to experience the excellent care that the midwives here provide. I gave birth naturally at my own pace and without any interventions. It is important to me, and a source of great joy, to be able to pass on my own experience again and again in my role as a midwife at the birthing centre. I want to help ensure that this service continues to be available.
