After many years of supporting home births, I now work at Geburtshaus Zürcher Oberland with deep conviction. It is very important to me to be there for the family throughout the pregnancy, to connect with their baby early on, and to help strengthen their confidence and abilities as they prepare for the incredible journey of parenthood.

During my own stay at the Geburtshaus after the birth of my son, I truly noticed the love and care that went into every meal. Now, I bring that same joy and warmth to every meal I prepare at the birthing centre.

Through my work here I can accompany  women and their families in an atmosphere of peace and trust during the unique time of pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period.

At the birthing centre, I can help support parents on the journey to natural childbirth.
In the days after birth, as a qualified breastfeeding advisor, I can provide additional support where needed to establish breastfeeding,

I got to know and value the exquisite cuisine in the Geburtshaus during my own two stays there. I cook with passion, using high-quality spices and wonderful organic, seasonal, locally sourced products.

Three of my four children were born here so the Geburtshaus is a very special place for me and I am passionate about my work here, providing families with a clean, cosy and comfortable environment. 

I gave birth to my son at the birthing centre, and because of this positive experience, I decided to work here. For me, the birthing centre is a place where life begins and love grows.

It is so important to me in my role as a midwife to be able to support mothers and babies during childbirth, observing, waiting and reacting where needed. The birthing centre offers me the calm atmosphere and the time I need to give the family-to-be my full attention and support.

I really enjoy cooking at the birthing centre. Here, I am able to create great  meals with seasonal products so that the families in our care go home well nourished.  I love the contact with the families. They are so appreciative and really value the food here.

Through the births of my three daughters, I discovered the birthing centre.
I truly look forward to preparing my creative meals for everyone here. The warm atmosphere and the chance to connect with people from all walks of life are things I really enjoy.

I’ve been a freelance midwife for 11 years and have taught postnatal courses at Geburtshaus Zürcher Oberland. I’m now delighted to work here, providing the holistic, peaceful care families truly need, alongside a wonderful team.

What is important to me is a personal and respectful approach, as well as the diverse role I can take on as a midwife. My goal is for the whole family to feel comfortable during this special time.

Being a midwife has always been my dream profession. What matters most to me is providing compassionate, empowering, and personalized care. Those special moments during birth—when you see, smell, and hold your child for the first time—are indescribable.

I love working in a birthing centre, which creates a protective space of comfort and safety for the family-to-be. My strengths are my patience and my presence of mind in difficult situations and my ability to take responsibility.

Childbirth is a miracle every time, and I’m grateful to support families on this journey. At the birthing centre, we honor natural processes and individuality, combining the latest knowledge with deep experience to provide holistic care.

Working at the birthing centre is a heartfelt commitment not only for the midwives – I, too, happily contribute my part from the office.

Early in my midwife training, I knew I wanted to focus on natural childbirth. When I discovered the birthing centre and its team, I immediately felt it was the right place for me. Supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and beyond, I’m proud to promote natural processes with trusted midwifery expertise.

Since  childhood I have been fascinated by birth. I support a childbirth culture in which women and their families are encouraged and empowered.

Being able to pursue my passion for numbers within a constructive and friendly team gives my work meaning and purpose.

After years working in hospitals, I chose the birthing centre for its calm, supportive environment. I feel privileged to guide couples through their unique journey from pregnancy to postnatal care, with the time and care they deserve.

I 

I mainly support the birthing centre with marketing projects. After experiencing the wonderful care of the midwives here when my son was born in 2009, I hope many more women can enjoy a natural, personalized birth experience too.

For many yearsI supported pregnant women during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period in my home country, the Netherlands. I’m really happy to bring my experience into the birthing centre and offer care and support throughout this exciting and challenging phase.

During my own births in the  Geburtshaus Zürcher Oberland I was able to experience the excellent care that the midwives here provide. I gave birth naturally at my own pace and without any interventions. It is important to me, and a source of great joy, to be able to pass on my own experience again and again in my role as a midwife at the birthing centre. I want to help ensure that this service continues to be available.
